Rum Bay Rum is a classic bay rum I've been sitting on since 2008. A DSD team member reminded me of it last year. We dug it out of the archive and realized this soft, spicy bay rum that lasts was needed in the world today! Many men aspire to dress like their grandpa and wear the colognes he would have worn.

West Indian Bay

The classic material of sailor's colognes. It is spicy, zesty, with an oceanic floral aroma.

Linden

Green, narcotic tree flower with a honeyed sweetness that blooms all over NYC. One of our perfumer David's favorite flowers - this is an accord made of a tree that lives on Jefferson Street in Bedstuy, Brooklyn!

Sandalwood

Sandalwood is complex but one of the most balanced oils with tones of milk, peach, musk, cedar, rose, coconut, and violet. A fixative, it can also disappear into the background, letting other notes shine through until hours later when it returns. Traditionally grown in Mysore, India, but over harvesting has left it out of the commercial perfumer’s pallet for about 20 years. We now use sandalwood grown sustainably elsewhere and reconstruct its aroma with molecules.

How does Rum Bay Rum differ from old-fashioned aftershaves?

Traditional drugstore bay rums can be weak and medicinal. Our Rum Bay Rum is a fancy Eau de Parfum that utilizes genuine, premium West Indian bay leaf, aged dark rum distillates, and smooth, high-grade sandalwood for long lasting refreshment.
Is Rum Bay Rum a very spicy fragrance?

It features a beautiful, warm spice from natural bay leaf, nutmeg and clove perfectly balanced by the sweet warmth of linden and a fine, clean sandalwood base.
Does it have good longevity?

Yes. Unlike classic splash aftershaves that fade in minutes, this is a concentrated Eau de Parfum formulation built on a sturdy foundation of sandalwood and resins, ensuring A+ performance.
